About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner in Urogynecology at Heritage Women's Center is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing and coordinating patient care in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves providing education, performing assessments, developing treatment plans, and promoting healthy living among patients, all while being supervised by a physician.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a Registered Professional Nurse license issued by the State of Tennessee.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• A minimum of two to three years of experience as a nurse practitioner.
• Completion of a Master's Degree level nurse practitioner program or equivalent experience.
• Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program and certification as a Physician Assistant recognized by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Nice To Haves

• Considerable knowledge of professional nursing and basic medical theory and practice.
• Considerable knowledge of nurse practitioner guidelines, rules, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Provides education and patient care management by obtaining medical histories and performing physical assessments.
• Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates findings to develop assessments and initiate treatment plans.
• Develops care plans that include prescribing medications and treatments, providing follow-up care, and evaluating care effectiveness.
• Promotes healthy living through education and provides information regarding medications, treatments, and referrals.
• Documents patient interactions and care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Attends and participates in staff conferences, clinic meetings, and NP/PA meetings.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and supports the organization's mission and values.
• Works effectively as a team member and takes leadership responsibility for task completion.
