About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Sleep Therapy Team in Temple, Texas. This role involves providing direct patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and managing treatment plans within a recognized integrated healthcare system. The Nurse Practitioner will work in a specialty clinic and may focus on various medical specialties, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege from a state that is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population of focus required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a relevant field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a specialty clinic setting.
• Familiarity with various medical specialties such as Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive examinations and medical histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess patient health needs.
• Prescribe and recommend medical therapies and perform procedures in accordance with approved protocols.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive, outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on assessments and evidence-based medicine.
• Evaluate patient responses to healthcare provided and the effectiveness of care.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, health management, and nutrition.
• Maintain detailed records of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
• Provide consultation services for conditions related to the provider's specialty and training.
• Manage patients in various healthcare settings beyond the primary clinic.
• Perform invasive procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.
