About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry position at the Office of Children and Family Services involves providing professional psychiatric nursing services to youth diagnosed with mental illness. The role includes collaborating with licensed psychiatrists to assess the physical and psychosocial status of youth through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests. The Nurse Practitioner will ensure patient safety through appropriate prescription and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, monitor clinical and behavioral outcomes, and participate in treatment team meetings. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.

Requirements

• Current Licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.
• One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.

• Candidate MUST have completed 3,500 hours of collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional psychiatric nursing services appropriate to youth diagnosed with mental illness.

• Ensure proper protocols are followed when obtaining informed consent for psychotropic medications.
• Participate in treatment team meetings.
