About The Position

Texas Health Azle seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner PRN Day Shift. The position involves utilizing principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques to obtain a comprehensive health history, formulate a plan of care, and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions. The Nurse Practitioner will use advanced health assessment skills to differentiate normal and abnormal findings, synthesize knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to provide therapeutic interventions to patients, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes. Responsibilities also include performing specialty specific technical procedures, producing documentation for patients' plans of care, promoting population health, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Master's Degree Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
  • 2 Years experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire.
  • APRN - Advanced Practice Nurse Upon Hire.
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 30 Days preferred.
  • Must be credentialed by Medical Staff Services Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Uses principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal findings.
  • Synthesizes knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to access, evaluate, and provide therapeutic interventions to patients.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes in order to promote continuity of care.
  • Performs specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Produces documentation that initiates, follows, and revises patients' plan of care.
  • Focuses on adherence to clinical pathways, protocols, and policies to ensure high reliability of clinical program.
  • Promotes population health through the evaluation of care delivery models as they pertain to community, environmental, cultural and socio-economical dimensions of health.
  • Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
  • Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
  • Demonstrates contribution to unit based programs and research strategies to monitor and continuously improve the quality of patient care.
  • Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes actions to improve those processes.
  • Works in partnerships with peers and other disciplines.
  • Adapts to changes in workload assignments to meet changing needs of the individuals, patient, or the unit.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies realistic and measurable annual goals for advanced professional nursing development.
  • Complies with THR Human Resource Policies: Attendance, Dress Code.
  • Works with unit leaders and hospital leadership to meet compliance and business needs.
  • Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communications.
