Full-Time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant for outpatient Ophthalmology in Chicago, IL
About The Position
We are partnering with a well-established ophthalmology practice in Chicago seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their clinical team. This role focuses on diabetic eye exams and routine ophthalmic evaluations , including medical clearance exams for surgical procedures. No prior ophthalmology experience is required — comprehensive training will be provided. Position Highlights Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule No weekends Standard clinic hours Collaborative ophthalmology setting Training provided for ophthalmic-specific skills Other available locations : schaumburg, Albany, oakbrook Terrace, Buffalo Grove, Oak lawn.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Illinois NP or PA license
- Certification in Family Medicine, Adult-Gerontology , or a related field
- Comfortable working in an outpatient clinical setting
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Responsibilities
- Perform diabetic eye examinations
- Conduct standard eye evaluations and pre-surgical clearances
- Review patient history and coordinate care with ophthalmologists
- Provide patient education and follow-up care
