About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient Medical Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Columbus Children’s Hospital as a PRN provider. In this role you will: · Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries on the general pediatrics floor as well as our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. · Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record. · Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. · Collaborate with the on-call physician for the overnight care of the pediatric patient with the physician on call for urgent needs. · Collaborate with the care team on the floor and the PICU to oversee and participate on care of the general and intensive pediatric patient. · Ability to handle cross cover calls and assist with admissions. · Communicate clearly the plan of care to the patient’s family or caregivers as needed about the pediatric patient’s condition or treatment plan. · Provide overnight care supporting admissions from the Pediatric Emergency Room, the General Pediatric floor and/or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. · Initiate and/or assist in bedside procedures as directed by the physician to facilitate and expedite patient care. Requirements

  • Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification --or— Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of Pediatric or PICU experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
