Pentucket Medical is launching a walk-in, no appointment necessary orthopedic injury clinic at our Riverwalk location (370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, MA 01843). The goal? To provide urgent, same-day visits for patients, provide appropriate evaluation and treatment, and establish needed follow up or surgical care during the visit. We also offer radiology services on-site. We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our brand new Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic located at 370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, MA 01843. Our Per Diem APPs are required to work one full weekend per month as well as one week day shift (8 hour or 12 hour shift). We are open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 7:30pm / Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm/ and on Sundays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. Requirements

Master's Degree Physician Assistant required
Physician Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of Advanced Practice Provider work experience preferred, particularly in an Orthopedics or acute care setting

Responsibilities

Evaluating patients by performing appropriate history and physical exams
Ordering diagnostic procedures such as laboratory, radiological and special studies when indicated
Performing therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injections
Ordering medication, both in the clinic or by prescription
Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
