About The Position

This health care professional is a physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) on the neurosurgery team of the Spine and Neuro department at Huntsville Hospital whose primary function is the co-management of patients (i.e., their diagnosis and treatment) under the supervision of the neurosurgical physicians within the recognized standards of practice in the clinic.

Requirements

Completion of Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing or current Physician Assistant license.
Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP or current registration through the Alabama board of Medical Examiners for PA.
Approval of the Huntsville Hospital Credentialing Board.
BLS required within orientation period.
Minimum one (1) year of work experience as a licensed NP/PA preferred.
Must have proven ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication.
Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment
