About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant–Certified (PA-C) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in interventional/ vascular setting. This role focuses on evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or PA-C
  • Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in the practicing state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Intermediate proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
  • Knowledge of word processing and clinical software applications
  • Minimum one year experience in interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or vascular preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of ESRD, vascular, musculoskeletal, neurologic, and spine-related conditions
  • Understanding of medications, including indications, contraindications, dosing, and side effects
  • Familiarity with opioid stewardship principles and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to assess functional limitations and treatment response
  • Ability to educate patients on interventional procedures, conservative therapies, and lifestyle modifications
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Ability to make sound clinical and administrative decisions within scope of practice
  • Knowledge of accreditation, certification, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations
  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in ESRD and vascular/ interventional procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and functional assessments
  • Diagnose and manage acute and ESRD conditions in accordance with established protocols
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including interventional and non-interventional therapies
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and other studies
  • Prescribe medications in compliance with state regulations and practice guidelines, including non-opioid and adjunctive therapies
  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations and patient education
  • Document all patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
  • Adhere to compliance standards, quality measures, and infection control policies
  • Respond appropriately and effectively in urgent or emergent clinical situations
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings as assigned
