About The Position

Excel Orthopaedic Specialists is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team. This hospital-based position involves inpatient rounding, emergency room (ER) consultations, and first-assisting in the operating room (OR). The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence in orthopedics and foster strong collaborative relationships with hospital staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current certification as a PA (PA-C) or NP, with experience in orthopedics preferred.
  • Active state licensure to practice as a PA or NP in MA.
  • Minimum of [X] years of clinical experience in orthopedics, including inpatient care, ER consultations, and surgical first-assisting.
  • Proficiency in clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and therapeutic interventions related to orthopaedic conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily rounds on orthopaedic inpatients, assess patient progress, manage treatment plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care to optimize recovery outcomes.
  • Respond promptly to ER consult requests, perform thorough assessments of patients presenting with musculoskeletal injuries or conditions, and collaborate with ER physicians to determine appropriate management strategies.
  • Serve as the first assistant in orthopaedic surgeries, providing intraoperative support to surgeons, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques, and contributing to optimal surgical outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary personnel, to facilitate seamless patient care and promote a team-oriented environment.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide patients and their families with clear and compassionate education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, postoperative care, and rehabilitation processes.
