About The Position

Stanford Health Care is seeking a per diem Advanced Practice Provider (APP)-Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)-to join our Urologic Surgical Oncology team. This relief position supports a dynamic, multi-disciplinary clinic focused on the investigation and treatment of urologic cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and genital cancers. Working closely with a team of world-renowned oncologists, the APP will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the oncology continuum-from diagnosis through treatment, and survivorship.

Requirements

• At least one year of clinical experience in oncology, urology, or an acute care setting as a NP or PA preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-specialty team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and management of patients with urologic cancers, in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Conduct new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, treatment planning, and urgent symptom assessments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies.
• Prescribe medications, including chemotherapy and supportive treatments.
• Participate in the coordination of care with clinical trials teams, tumor boards, supportive care, and survivorship services.
• Conduct procedures such as bladder installations and foley catheter management.
• Respond to patient inquiries and manage symptoms both in clinic and via telephone communication.
• Promote and uphold a patient-focused approach, effectively communicating with patients, families, and care teams.
