About The Position

The Lead APP - Assistant of UC Staffing Operations will assist the Urgent Care Manager and Medical Director with creating and maintaining the provider schedule, helping with recruitment and onboarding, and assisting with other items as needed. They will also provide primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of either an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice required or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Idaho or Oregon.
  • Certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or current certification as prescribed by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc.
  • Current DEA and Idaho Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance license.
  • 2 years of experience preferred in a setting appropriate to the assigned practice (family practice, specialty services, urgent care, occupational medicine, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Generate a monthly urgent care provider schedule six to eight weeks in advance.
  • Work with the team on ongoing provider staffing needs, including filling gaps, call outs, and providing surge coverage.
  • Adopt, master, and educate the team on new scheduling processes or software.
  • Assist with interviews and recruitment.
  • Help with new grad onboarding and the new grad program as needed.
  • Provide backup call coverage for the Urgent Care Manager and Medical Director as needed.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
