The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Our ExpressCare locations offer urgent care services for adults and children seven days a week to help patients when they are sick or injured. We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing ExpressCare locations at 370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, MA 01843 and 323 Lowell Street in Andover, MA 01810. Our Per Diem APPs are required to work a minimum of two shifts per month.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience required.
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] preferred.
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] preferred.
  • Basic Life Support [BLS] Certificate preferred.
  • Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience that includes the care of pediatric patients (6 months and older) preferred.
  • Experience in procedures including suturing and splinting preferred.
  • Experience in reading diagnostic studies, including X-Rays and EKG's preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
