Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Clinical Specialist
About The Position
The Clinical Specialist Advanced Practice Provider will serve as a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to patients at Upstate University Hospital. The APP will serve in a float capacity, covering a variety of inpatient services and clinics within Upstate. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.
Requirements
- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required.
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required.
- NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).
- 2-3 years APP experience.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
