Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Burn Surgery
About The Position
The Burn Surgery Advanced Practice Provider will serve as a Full Time APP to provide care to patients at SUNY Upstate Downtown Campus. The APP will provide management of the Burn Surgery patients in the Inpatient setting and Ambulatory Clinic, with potential to first assist in the OR. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.
Requirements
- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required.
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required.
- NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Must be a Family/Adult Licensed APP with ability to provide care to pediatrics.

- Surgery and First Assist experience.
