About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role at Stanford Health Care Cancer Center involves working independently to provide comprehensive care for a diverse patient population undergoing cancer treatment. The APP will collaborate with physicians to manage complex medical cases, perform procedures, and deliver urgent care in the infusion treatment area. This position is integral to the growing oncology program, focusing on patient care, treatment management, and participation in clinical trials.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Graduate of an NP program accredited by NLNAC or CCNE.
• Current RN and NP state licensure and NP Furnishing Number.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent care for cancer patients at Stanford Health Care Cancer Center.
• Collaborate with physicians to manage medically complex patient cases.
• Perform procedures and deliver urgent care in the infusion treatment area.
• Conduct sick calls, pre-treatment visits, and survivorship care for patients.
• Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic complaints related to oncology.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests as needed.
• Administer, order, and prescribe medications according to standardized procedures.
• Facilitate coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education.
