A Brief Overview Join our team and help provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. We are offering a $20,000 bonus to experienced Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) with 2 or more years of ICU and/or critical care experience. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is hiring APPs to join the Pediatric Critical Care team. The team works across the Philadelphia and King of Prussia campuses staffing the 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Philadelphia, 75-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Philadelphia, and 14-bed PICU at the King of Prussia Hospital. The PCU, housed within the critical care complex, cares for trach- and vent-dependent patients that vary in age from infant through young adult. The PICUs admit infants, children, and adolescents who are critically ill or injured. Patient diagnoses cover a broad range but commonly include acute respiratory failure, severe infection, poisoning, drug overdose, trauma, extensive surgery, congenital anomalies, and immunological disorders. The team consists of over 30 APPs working a rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Providers who are new-to-practice will receive a robust 16-20 week training inclusive of clinical-, didactic-, and simulation-based education as part of the Advanced Practice Clinical Immersion Program. This care is delivered in defined inpatient and hospital-outpatient areas. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research.
