About The Position

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The Per Diem Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner performs the role utilizing the patient-centered coordinated care model demonstrated through the following competencies: leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision making. This nurse practitioner role is in an administrative setting and does not involve procedures or assisting in procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program
  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice
  • Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate)
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law
  • Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Responsibilities

  • Managing the database and registry with the database people
  • Reviewing quality metrics and fulfillment of accreditation standards
  • Data report involvement
  • Managing the care of interventional patients (pre and post) to ensure that guidelines are followed and standards of care are met (no direct patient care)
