The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Clemson University will play a crucial role in managing both acute and chronic care patients through a variety of services including preventive and primary care. This position is part-time and involves working in fixed clinics, utilizing telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and mobile health units to deliver care. The NP will also be responsible for educating rural health professionals and supporting clinical research initiatives. The role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care while adhering to established protocols and regulatory standards. In this position, the NP will deliver clinical care in a team-based, patient-focused environment. This includes conducting in-person and telehealth appointments, collaborating with nursing and other clinic staff, and supporting disease prevention and chronic disease management. The NP will also incorporate technology into their practice, such as MyChart and Carium, and will serve as a clinical preceptor for undergraduate and graduate students. Monitoring and directing nursing care delivered to patients within Clemson Rural Health (CRH) facilities is also a key responsibility. Compliance with regulatory standards is essential, and the NP will be expected to document appropriately within the electronic health record to ensure continuity of care and billing accuracy. Participation in continuing education to maintain necessary licenses is also required. Additionally, the NP will assist in the implementation of approved research protocols and support data management and reporting for various programs. Quality and patient safety are paramount in this role. The NP will identify quality risks and issues, create corrective action plans, and integrate quality improvement activities into their workflow. Leadership on quality improvement projects will be necessary to enhance patient experience and safety, as well as improve clinic efficiencies.
