Providing specialized medical care for patients living with a serious illness or injury focused on providing relief from the physical & pain symptoms that come from the serious illness or injury, or side effects of treatment. Hold goals of care meetings with patients and family to ensure patient and family understanding of their diagnosis and prognosis, available treatment options, benefits and burdens of treatment options and coordinating care for patients and their families based on their goals of care.
