About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) ENT is an integral member of the M Health Fairview team, working in close collaboration with licensed Otolaryngologists and clinical staff to provide comprehensive care related to conditions of the ears, nose, throat, head and neck. The scope of practice of each Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is defined through Fairview's Credentialing and Privileging Committees. The APP ENT is responsible for the evaluation, diagnoses, and management of both acute and chronic conditions affecting ENT patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire
• 3 years experience in a Surgical practice as an NP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical exams focused on ENT-related conditions
• Diagnose, treats, and manage acute and chronic ENT illnesses
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Perform in-office procedures as credentialed
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and preventive care
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical providers / staff on treatment planning and surgical follow-up
• Coordinate referrals to audiology, speech therapy, or other specialties
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
