About The Position

About the Opportunity MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiology team. This unique 30‑hour-per-week position blends inpatient cardiology hospitalist care with participation in our stress‑testing program, offering a dynamic and rewarding clinical experience.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner (Maine licensure or eligibility)
  • Experience in cardiology, acute care, or hospital medicine preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative care model
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Maine State Board of Nursing
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Maine State Board of Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cardiology, acute care, or hospital medicine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient cardiology hospitalist support in collaboration with our Cardiology team
  • Conduct and interpret cardiac stress tests
  • Participate in patient evaluation, management, and care planning
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure high‑quality patient care
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑oriented clinical environment
