About The Position

The Amyloidosis Center, Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center is seeking a full-time advanced practice provider to support its rapidly expanding program. We are an international referral center for patients with amyloidosis and rare protein misfolding diseases that affect multiple organs. Our practice provides a full range of multidisciplinary care to a diverse patient population from all over the U.S. as well as international regions. The provider will work with our cardiologists, hematologists, pulmonologist, nephrologists, neurologists, and gastroenterologist to assist with coordination of patient care in the ambulatory multidisciplinary clinic in a shared practice model. The APP will be responsible for record review, medication reconciliation, patient intake, post-evaluation contact, and coordination of care. The APP will be joining a dynamic team of 2 experienced APPs. The APPs participate in multidisciplinary clinical, research and teaching conferences, and are encouraged to participate in multiple other opportunities available within the Amyloidosis Center. Teaching and mentoring opportunities for NP and PA students from area programs are also available. Requirements

  • NP or PA certification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of practice experience is preferred, although outstanding candidates at the beginning of their careers will also be considered.
  • Qualified Nurse Practitioners (NP) will: Hold master’s degree in nursing Have a current license to practice as a registered nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with APRN authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing Be registered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners
  • Qualified Physician Assistants (PA-C) will: Hold at least a bachelor’s degree and must be a graduate of a PA Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) or its predecessor Be eligible for the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) PANCE and eligible for PA licensure in the State of Massachusetts Documentation of Massachusetts PA license and initial NCCPA certification is required upon hire
  • Both NP; PA-C o candidates will have: A Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration A Federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration Current BLS Certification.
  • A minimum of three years of current clinical experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a similar clinical setting/specialty preferred.
