About The Position

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient Vascular Surgery department. The ambulatory-based vascular surgery APP will provide support to and streamline components of the outpatient vascular surgery practice at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. They will provide direct care to patients and expand access by seeing new, return, and post-operative patients. They will perform outpatient wound care including wound debridement. The APP will directly support the vascular surgeons and may provide procedural support in the Vein Clinic. They will coordinate care for the vascular patients as well as provide education and support to patients and families. The vascular surgery APP may mentor graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and participate in various research/quality projects and committees. Schedule: M-F, 4x10's (day off TBD) no weekends/holidays/on-call Please note that this is not an inpatient role

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. OR Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program/Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois.
Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (issued by the American Heart Association) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department
Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department
