There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
A partner of the Optum Care network, WellMed Medical Group, is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Morgan clinic in Corpus Christi, TX. Opportunities at WellMed, part of the Optum family of businesses, emphasize that all patients are entitled to the highest level of medical care. Here, you will join a team that shares your passion for helping people achieve better health. With opportunities for physicians, clinical staff, and non-patient-facing roles, you can make a difference with us as you discover the meaning behind Caring. Connecting. Growing together. In this role, you will focus on quality over quantity, typically seeing 14 to 16 patients per day with 30-minute visits. Instead of RVU or volume metrics, our providers are measured and rewarded based on the quality of care they provide, with most providers earning $15,000 bonuses paid semi-annually. You will start with 160 hours of PTO in your first year, plus an additional 5 days for Continuing Medical Education (CME), and the clinics are closed for 8 national holidays. You will have strong clinical support from a team that includes RNs, LVNs, MAs, nurse educators, case managers, clinic administrators, referral managers, coders, centralized scheduling, a nurse advice line, and robust IT support. Collaboration with primary care physicians (Internal Medicine & Family Medicine), hospitalists, and a network of employed/contracted sub-specialists is also a key aspect of this position. WellMed is primarily a Medicare Advantage Plan that operates as a health system focused on quality and value-based outcomes. We believe that our providers must also have time to care for themselves and their families, which is why we emphasize a supportive work environment. Most of our leaders began their careers in our clinics, providing clinical and leadership growth opportunities for you. We are influencing change on a national scale while maintaining the culture and community of our local care organizations, recognizing that collaboration is key to healthier patients and an invigorating work environment.
