About The Position

PAMF–Palo Alto Medical Foundation (CAD) is seeking a skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team in Mountain View, CA. This role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing comprehensive medical care for patients in close collaboration with a supervising physician. The advanced practice provider will function within the full scope of licensure and is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions. Responsibilities include providing medical consultations, performing therapeutic procedures as delegated, assisting with surgical procedures, completing daily rounds as needed, and ensuring continuity of care through an organized, multidisciplinary team approach across the care continuum.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program Or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing & Master's: Nursing
  • PA-Physician Assistant Or NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs
  • NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing
  • RN-California Registered Nurse
  • CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • NCCPA-National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required at hire or within 12 months if hired before 07/10/2025 PAs may not bill for services without NCCPA.
  • Other - certification based on department requirements
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
  • Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments this may include the ability to complete age-appropriate assessments
