Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Surgical Critical Care team at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center located in Hartford, Connecticut. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside nine experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and six Acute Care/Trauma Attending Surgeons, covering surgical, trauma, and neurosurgical patients within a Level 1 trauma system. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing critical care plans, performing invasive procedures such as central, arterial, and dialysis lines, assisting with percutaneous tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes, and coordinating care with consulting services. Additionally, team members will cover rapid responses throughout the hospital to stabilize acutely decompensating patients and participate in the education of surgical residents, medical students, and PA students. The Surgical Critical Care team provides 24/7 coverage of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), and candidates should expect shared responsibility for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. The ideal candidate for this role should be detail-oriented, a team player, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical critical care environment. All interested candidates must be board certified and hold an active State of Connecticut license. Nurse Practitioner candidates should be Acute Care trained and certified, possess previous ICU experience, and have a minimum of two years of NP experience.
