About The Position

Kootenai Clinic is seeking either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an existing Sleep Medicine clinic in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Currently staffed by one Sleep Medicine trained physician and clinic medical staff in a busy and expanding clinic. Opportunity exists for assisting in program development, education, and ongoing service line growth.

Requirements

• MSN degree or higher from an accredited nurse practitioner program required
• Nationally recognized as a Nurse Practitioner
• Clinical experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Holds a current NP and RN license to practice in the state of Idaho required
• BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
• Bachelor's degree in Health Science required
• Physician's Assistant Certificate of Registration with the Idaho Medical Board or is certification eligible, and is certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required
• Qualified under the rules of the DEA for prescriptive practices required
• Qualified under CMS regulations for patient care and billing practices required
• BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians
• Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• Typically reports to a physician
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
• Assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of a physician
• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
