About The Position

In the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Concussion role, you're an integral part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, neuropsychology, and physicians. Together, you'll deliver comprehensive concussion care through an established concussion program. Key Position Details: Job Description: Hours/shifts: Monday - Friday daytime hours, no weekends, no call Locations: Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Center Golden Valley, Abbott Northwestern WestHealth, and Mercy Hospital Specialty Center Contact Catie Gramm, Talent Acquisition Consultant, with inquiries [email protected] Provides clinical care for patients in an outpatient setting Will conduct follow-up appointments and may complete patient assessments as appropriate Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care Refers for specialty care when determined Consults with physician when patient's needs outside of advanced practice provider's scope Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff Acts as a resource to members of the team Works with primary care team for program development Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited physician assistant program OR nurse practitioner program
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire OR Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire
  • ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
  • Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Responsibilities
