Work Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Union Position: No Department Details Recruiting an APP (PNP, FNP, or PA) to join the Developmental Department at Sanford Children's Specialty Clinic at the Sanford Castle. Summary The Pediatric Developmental & Behavioral Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for children and adolescents with developmental, behavioral, and mental health conditions. The NP conducts comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and manages treatment plans to support optimal growth, development, and behavioral health in collaboration with physicians, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Job Description Perform detailed developmental, behavioral, and mental health assessments in pediatric patients. Diagnose conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, anxiety, and mood disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including behavioral interventions, medication management, and referrals. Collaborate with psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators, and social workers. Provide family education, counseling, and support to promote effective management of developmental and behavioral conditions. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary. Coordinate care across medical, educational, and community resources. Document all clinical encounters, assessments, and treatment plans thoroughly. Participate in quality improvement, research, and continuing education focused on pediatric developmental and behavioral health. This position also provides on-call coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Requirements

  • Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
  • If Licensing prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
  • State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
  • National board certification as a Pediatric Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or (PPCNP-BC), Family (NP-C) or (FNP-BC), Psych Mental Health (PMHNP-BC) or (PMHNP-C)
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists
