The APP in the department of endocrinology will manage Type 1 diabetes patients, including clinical components, inpatient coverage, and phone coverage.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
  • Licensure and certification in accordance with CCHMC Delineation of Privileges.
  • Multi-state licensure in addition to Ohio licensure may be required based on subspecialty.
  • Experience with diabetes is highly preferred.
  • Certification-FNP, Primary Care, Physician Assistant.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with T1D and T1D technology (CGM, pumps).

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and/or physical exams on patients presenting for care in area of expertise.
  • Assess and diagnose illnesses, including chronic and acute conditions.
  • Formulate, document and monitor a treatment plan.
  • Order and monitor therapeutic interventions including diets, laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests.
  • Provide clinical consultation and order interdisciplinary consults.
  • Maintain professional behaviors aligned with core values and care standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities or research to improve care delivery.
  • Develop outcomes as measurable goals for continuity of care.
  • Promote self-management and family-centered care.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of the diagnosis and effectiveness of interventions.
