Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Neurosurgery / Neuroendovascular department. The APP will be working in inpatient and outpatient as well as OR assists. Schedule: M-F, days will participate in rotating first call service for weeknights and weekends, will rotate 1 in 7 (For weekend and overnight call, the APP will have the pager at home and will only need to come onsite when necessary). Essential Functions: Provide advanced clinical care for patients with neurovascular conditions across inpatient (ICU/floor) and outpatient settings Manage pre‑procedure assessment, peri‑procedural coordination, and post‑procedure follow‑up for neuroendovascular interventions Participate in acute stroke evaluations, inpatient consults, and longitudinal outpatient follow‑up care Assist neurointerventional physicians during procedures and manage post‑procedural care, including access site monitoring and complication prevention Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and adjust treatment plans within scope of practice Coordinate multidisciplinary care with neurology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, anesthesia, nursing, and stroke teams Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, recovery expectations, and secondary stroke prevention Document care in the electronic medical record and participate in quality improvement, program development, and stroke center initiatives
