Requirements

• Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date.
• DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities.
• Manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease and therapy, while collaborating with a consultant Hematologist and fellow.
• Consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate and coordinate discharge planning.
• Provide educational support to patients and their families.
• Serve as mentors to fellow allied health professionals during their first year of practice.
• Participate in research and quality improvement projects.
• Educate and precept students, present at poster and journal club presentations, and pursue leadership and development through achieving academic rank.
