About The Position

Seeking an APP to join an expanding field within Cardiovascular Disease in the Cardiology-Oncology specialty. This role will be one that supports clinic and also hospital consult coverage in conjunction with our other Cardio-Onc experts. The field of Cardio-Onc is very exciting and fast growing. There is a large population that has had or has active cancer who also may have significant cardiovascular disease. There is often significant impact with treatments for one that affect the other which requires a special skill set to manage. This role gives the variety of both outpatient and inpatient practice in which care is provided for patients long term in the outpatient setting, but also utilizing these skills to serve as a resource in a hospital consultative role, along with one of our Cardio-Onc physicians. The work is challenging and rewarding, and has potential for growth, research and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
• Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice
• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date
• DEA registration required

Responsibilities

• Obtaining patient history
• Performing physical examinations
• Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Formulating a diagnostic impression
• Developing and implementing a treatment plan
• Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
• Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
• Making appropriate referrals
• Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication
• Demonstrating ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interpreting information relative to patient's age-specific needs.
