About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - to join our world-class Hematology and Oncology team. This role will primarily support the Bone Marrow Transplant and Acute Leukemia disease group within our outpatient practice. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients across all stages of their treatment journey, including curative and palliative-intent therapies. This includes managing patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy.

Requirements

  • New Grads will not be considered at this time. 2+ years minimum as a practicing Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hematology/oncology or transplant experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Monitor and evaluate therapeutic interventions for effectiveness.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families to support informed decision-making and adherence to treatment.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida state laws and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate across specialties and refer to appropriate services as needed.
  • Perform procedures including bone marrow biopsies and administration of intrathecal chemotherapy via Ommaya reservoir.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
  • Engage in institutional research and educational activities.
  • Attend and contribute to disease group discussions and multidisciplinary meetings.
