About The Position

Geisinger is seeking an experienced or new graduate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Selinsgrove, PA. This site qualifies for a $10k recruitment incentive. Geisinger Selinsgrove is 3 miles from Susquehanna University and 30 minutes from Geisinger Medical Center, our main campus! At Geisinger, you have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on your patients’ lives with: 20-minute appointments and forty-minute appointments for elderly patient population. Physician/APP panel sharing model. Daily huddles with care team members to review coordination of care. Pharmacists to assist with patient education and medication management. Care managers, health managers, clinic health associates and coding educators. Centralized prescription refill team. Nurse call center to assist with on-call workload (nursing home calls directed to Skilled Nursing Facility team). Epic EMR – universal throughout Geisinger. Increased access to care by means of eVisits, patient portals, Geisinger’s ConvenientCare urgent care clinics.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current NCCPA certification or eligibility for Physician Assistants.
  • Eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of PA.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in primary care settings.
  • Familiarity with care management and clinical policies.
  • Interest in teaching or precepting opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and provide care management.
  • Participate in daily huddles with care team members.
  • Assist with patient education and medication management.
  • Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation.
  • Provide care to patients across all age ranges from Pediatric to Geriatric.
