About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant roles involve completing medical histories and physical examinations to provide appropriate care to patients in accordance with the medical plan of care and within their respective scopes of practice. Both positions require a systematic approach in assessing the patient's physical, psychological, and social status to determine the need for care, the type of care to be provided, and the need for reassessment or follow-up. They must demonstrate the ability to perform and assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine procedures within their scope of practice and expertise. Care must be delivered in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner, sensitive to the linguistic, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients, families, and other caretakers. Documentation of all medical information in the EHR system is required, along with the completion of all required training to maintain current licensure. Practicing safely by following proper protocols for infection control, accident prevention, and body mechanics is essential. Attendance at meetings and training sessions as directed is also part of the role, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of advanced nursing for Nurse Practitioner.
  • Currently licensed to practice as an advanced nurse practitioner by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program for Physician Assistant.
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Completion and passing of the NCCPA National Certification Exam.
  • Current licensure and clinical expertise.
  • Leadership and organizational ability.
  • Effective communication and collaborative work skills.
  • Self-motivated with significant practice experience in private practice or institutional setting.

Responsibilities
