About The Position

Methodist Children’s Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology team. This advanced practice provider will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centered care to children with blood disorders and cancer.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
• National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant
• BLS and PALS certification required
• Prior experience in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric acute care preferred

• Comfort with managing complex pediatric patients and coordinating multidisciplinary care

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians
• Manage chemotherapy administration, transfusions, and supportive care
• Participate in patient and family education, ensuring understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Coordinate care with other specialties, nursing staff, social workers, and support services
• Participate in clinical rounds, tumor boards, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
