UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Newborn Nursery team At UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus , the Newborn Nursery is the unit where healthy newborns receive care immediately after birth and during the first days of life. It’s staffed by a multidisciplinary team — including newborn hospitalists, nurse practitioners, nurses, lactation consultants, social workers, and pediatric care providers — who focus on well-newborn care and support for families. This service typically includes: Routine assessments and monitoring of newborn health Management of common non-critical conditions (e.g., jaundice, feeding concerns, late-preterm care) Family education on newborn care (feeding, sleeping, screening tests, etc.) Support from lactation consultants for breastfeeding and feeding questions Counseling for parents about newborn health and safety basics The nursery team works closely with obstetrics and pediatrics to ensure smooth transitions from delivery to newborn care.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Board Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
