Nurse Practitioner – Neurology / Sleep Medicine (Outpatient Clinic)
About The Position
An established outpatient neurology practice in Sherman, Texas is seeking two Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to support a growing patient population across neurology and sleep medicine services . This role focuses on outpatient neurological care, chronic disease management, and sleep disorder follow-up in collaboration with neurologists. The Nurse Practitioner will manage patients with conditions including migraines, neuropathy, seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and sleep-related disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea. This position is ideal for a provider who values continuity of care, structured clinic schedules, and collaborative specialty practice .
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas
- Board Certification (FNP, AGNP, or Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner)
- DEA registration or eligibility
- Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in neurology, internal medicine, pulmonology, or sleep medicine
- Prior outpatient clinic experience
- Familiarity with sleep studies and CPAP therapy management
- Experience managing chronic neurological conditions
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient evaluation and management of neurological patients in collaboration with physicians
- Manage follow-up visits for migraines, neuropathy, seizure disorders, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic neurological conditions
- Evaluate and manage sleep-related disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and CPAP therapy follow-up
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing including sleep studies, imaging, and laboratory work
- Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and adjust therapies based on patient progress
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term disease management
- Coordinate care with neurologists, sleep specialists, primary care providers, and therapy services
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Participate in procedural care including Botox therapy for migraine and movement disorders and intrathecal pump management (training provided)
