About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical oversight for the patients within the Observation Unit under the direction of the Attending Physician for the case. Age specific care will be provided to a population that includes adults and geriatric patients. The NP will report to the Medical Director of Medical Affairs. The NP will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures of San Antonio Regional Hospital as well as the regulatory guidelines and laws defined by the California Board of Registered Nurses and the California Medical Board, as well as any other federal and state regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited NP program. Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a Hospital setting.
  • Able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to manage/prioritize/complete multiple assignments and other duties as assigned to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • RN license with CA BRN
  • Advanced Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS & BLS is required.
  • Credentialed through the Medical Staff process for Allied Health.
  • Equipment appropriate to specialty area.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.
