In addition, a Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse holds a masters or doctoral degree in a specialized area of nursing. The Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse functions autonomously and collaborates with other health professionals to provide high quality, cost effective advanced nursing care to patients, manage health care systems and influence health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory-based practice.
