About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner II position at UC Irvine's Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Division, is designed for a highly skilled and independent individual who will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to cancer patients. This role involves working in the ambulatory and infusion center settings, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and participating in early phase clinical trials under the supervision of medical directors and nurse practitioner supervisors. The Nurse Practitioner will utilize their advanced education and clinical skills to manage patient care effectively, ensuring high-quality treatment tailored to individual patient needs.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
• Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
• NP National Board Certification: Adult Gerontology Acute Care AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG.
• Current BLS certification and ACLS certification.
• At least 2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience.
• At least 2 years of Inpatient and/or Acute Care experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with clinical trial patient participation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the comprehensive care of patients in ambulatory and infusion center settings.
• Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
• Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures as per approved standardized procedures.
• Demonstrate self-direction and accountability for the quality of care provided to the specified patient population.
• Maintain effective working relationships across the program and UCI Health System.
