About The Position

Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, located just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospitalist team. This is an excellent employed opportunity at a large community hospital in a beautiful suburban NY location. Vassar has built a new 696,000-square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences, cancer care, and women’s health. Requirements

For newly graduated candidates, a strong inpatient nursing med-surg or critical care background is desired.
For practicing candidates, hospitalist experience or highly functioning outpatient experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

Responds to RRT and other in house emergencies such as Code Stroke, Code Sepsis, etc. (no Code Blue)
Discharge follow up calls including lab/test results and pharmacy calls
