The Gastroenterology team at Mass General Brigham in Newburyport is dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care for a wide range of digestive health conditions. We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Nurse Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology Team! This NP will be floating to multiple locations through out the Merrimack Valley and Tuscan Village. Schedule details are: Tuesdays and Wednesdays: Newburyport Thursdays and Fridays: Floating between Haverhill, Lawrence and Salem, NH (Tuscan Village) The weekly schedule consists of consisting of 32 hours of clinical, patient-facing time, and 8 hours of administrative time. Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

Requirements

• Master's Degree Nursing required
• Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
• Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
• Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred

Nice To Haves

• experience as a nurse practitioner 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
• Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
