About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Gastroenterology at the Hope Tower, part of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC), plays a vital role in delivering patient-centered care within a collaborative healthcare environment. This position primarily focuses on outpatient care, with some responsibilities involving rounding at JSUMC. The NP will utilize a coordinated care model that emphasizes leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation, collaboration, coaching, research, and ethical decision-making. The role requires working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement care for patients with various health and safety needs. In this position, the NP will conduct medical assessments and treatments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The NP will also develop and implement individualized care plans, facilitate patient education, and evaluate existing protocols to integrate best practices into clinical care. The role involves prescribing medications, initiating laboratory tests, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. The NP will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and participating in continuing education to enhance clinical competencies.
