About The Position

CHOP is seeking a new graduate Nurse Practitioner to work as a Fellow on our Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics team. Under the direction/supervision of a collaborative physician and practicing Advanced Practice Provider (APP), the APP Subspecialty/Primary Care Fellow-CRNP is a trainee. The APP Subspecialty/Primary Care Fellowship program is a program that provides mentoring, didactic teaching, simulation skills training, and experience to prepare the APP Fellow to become a competent APP. Throughout the program, the APP Fellow will become responsible for the direct care and follow up of a population of patients that match his/her skill set through the designated curriculum and timelines. The components of the role include education, clinical practice, consultation, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing - Required
  • Ability to work in a team setting with multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the Subspecialty/Primary Care APP Fellow program educational curriculum.
  • Completes post-tests and evaluations as a measure of competence.
  • Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
  • As a part of the learning process, will utilize advanced assessment skills to support the management of a cohort of patients.
  • Performs and documents daily assessments.
  • Collects and analyzes data and formulates a family-centered plan of care.
  • Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan.
  • As a trainee, works collaboratively to communicate the plan of care and potential changes to this plan to the supervising physician and assigned Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety.
  • Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms.
  • Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.
