About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner position at National Church Residences involves providing advanced nursing care to senior residents in various healthcare settings, including Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree in Nursing and a nurse practitioner certification.
  • Minimum of two years as an RN in a health care setting.
  • Current Ohio RN License and Nurse Practitioner in good standing.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical exams and comprehensive medical and social history of individuals.
  • Make independent decisions regarding management and treatment of medical problems identified.
  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests for screening and diagnosing.
  • Prescribe and order appropriate diet, medications, and other forms of treatment.
  • Perform therapeutic or corrective measures, including urgent care.
  • Refer individuals to appropriate specialist nurses or physicians.
  • Provide information, instruction, and counseling on health maintenance and illness management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and counseling and provide additional support as necessary.
  • Initiate and maintain follow-up of noncompliant patients.
  • Serve as preceptor for medical, nursing, NP, or PA students.
  • Consult with other health care providers about established clients.
  • Correspond with insurers, employers, and other health care providers as necessary.
  • Manage care of clients and develop treatment plans.
  • Assess social/economic factors for each client and tailor care accordingly.
  • Maintain familiarity with community resources and connect clients with appropriate resources.
