About The Position

Frederick Health's Cardiac Cath Lab is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our growing, mission-driven organization. This dual role offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a collaborative, team-based care environment, providing high-quality care to patients across the hospital setting with continuity through community outpatient follow-up. The ideal candidate will work as a Nurse Practitioner for 32 hours per week and as a Clinical Specialist for 8 hours per week. This is a Monday-Friday position with no holidays and weekend shifts. About the Role The Nurse Practitioner serves as a trusted clinician and clinical resource, delivering high-quality care through comprehensive patient evaluation, treatment, education, and follow-up. This role blends clinical autonomy with strong team support and offers meaningful involvement in quality improvement, patient experience, and care coordination initiatives.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocation
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Cath Lab services is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care including histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment plans
  • Counsel and educate patients and families using clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication
  • Coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings to support continuity and optimal outcomes
  • Order and interpret appropriate labs, imaging, and consults with attention to quality, safety, and cost
  • Collaborate with peers to support high-risk patients, care planning, and self-management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and workflow enhancements
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
