About The Position

This Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, outpatient cardiology care within our satellite clinic network. Our satellite clinic locations for this will mainly be out of Bryn Mawr, King of Prussia, and Abington, with occasional coverage out of Brandywine Valley and Bucks County. This is a day shift position (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) with no weekend, holiday, or call requirements. The APP will work within the multidisciplinary clinical team to provide individualized patient care through history and physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, medication ordering, prescribing and management, formulating diagnoses and patient/family education. They promote evidenced based practice by conducting or participating in research studies and academic activities. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. The patient population is one with known or suspected cardiac disease. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in cardiology and a passion for patient education to join our growing team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing Required
  • Ability to work in an inter-professional team setting with multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.
  • Refer to Scope of Practice Document and Clinical Responsibilities Checklist for specific requirements of role.
  • Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or Registered Nurse (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
  • Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required or Prescriptive Authority (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required
  • Specialty Certification - as a Nurse Practitioner in area of education/subspecialty. - upon hire - Required

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of patients. Performs and documents daily assessments. Collects and analyzes data and formulates a family-centered plan of care.
  • Performs any needed advanced procedures that are listed in the Scope of Practice Document and approved as a part of the credentialing process.
  • Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan. Using the most current evidence, modifies the plan of care based on the effectiveness of the treatment and the patient/family response to the plan.
  • Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team. Acts as a consultant to multidisciplinary health care team members.
  • Participates in scholarly activities including research and education. Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Participates in the professional development of others. Acts as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, nurse practitioners, students, and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practice to enhance safety. Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.
